PRS KOREA is one of Asia’s leading international congresses, bringing together plastic surgeons from Korea and around the world to share the latest clinical research and advanced surgical techniques.

At this year’s congress, Dr. Byung Kwon Lee of Mo&Line Plastic Surgery Clinic was selected as an invited speaker for Session Hair 1: Advanced Hair Restoration – Beyond FUE, where he delivered a featured lecture.

Reconstructive Hairline Transplantation:
Integrative Approaches Following Aesthetic Facial Surgeries

This presentation focused on hairline deformities and scarring that may occur after aesthetic facial surgeries such as forehead reduction, facial contouring, and facelifts, approached from the perspective of reconstructive hair transplantation.

During the lecture, Dr. Lee shared clinical insights on how to analyze and address :

Linear scars remaining after forehead reduction or facelift procedures
Temporal and sideburn hair loss
Localized alopecia caused by postoperative compression
Asymmetry and unnatural contours of the existing hairline

All explanations were supported by real clinical cases and long-term outcomes.

♦️Key Surgical and Therapeutic Approaches♦️

The presentation introduced a comprehensive, integrative treatment strategy, including :

Hairline reconstruction design based on facial proportions and frontal–temporal angles
High-density slit implantation techniques adapted to scar elasticity
Selective follicle harvesting using FUSS, FUE, and hybrid techniques
Natural gradation grafting, from fine vellus-like hairs to thicker hairs
Multimodal regenerative therapies, including PRP, growth factors, laser treatments, and adjunctive medical therapies

In particular, the lecture highlighted that limited hairline deformities can be effectively corrected with fewer than 1,000 grafts using no-shaving FUE techniques, a point that attracted significant interest from attending specialists.

The presented cases demonstrated high graft survival rates of approximately 85–90% in areas affected by forehead reduction scars and temporal scarring, along with natural contour restoration and high patient satisfaction.

The topic of hairline reconstruction following aesthetic facial surgery generated strong interest among international plastic surgeons, including those from Japan, leading to continued inquiries and discussions even after the congress concluded.

Shortly after the meeting, Japanese medical professionals who attended the lecture personally contacted Dr. Lee and visited Mo&Line Plastic Surgery Clinic, where they observed live surgical procedures and participated in an in-house PPT seminar based on Dr. Lee’s clinical cases.
