The Reasons for Re-correction Surgeries
After getting a male/female hairline correction surgery
The awkward forehead shape,
perfectly rounded hairline,
losing the option of combed-back hair because of the rough, thick hair in the front,
and spare hair issues…
These are the common reasons that many clients visit Mo&Line Plastic Surgery’s Director, Lee Byung-kwon
to receive a re-correction surgery due to the failed previous hairline correction.
How to design
a natural and harmonious hairline?

First, the doctor must have a lot of experience
in hairline correction surgeries!
Secondly, they must take a 3D Face Scanning,
analyze the hairline, and explain the correction details!
But many clinics say something like that quite commonly.
But these are not enough
to ensure satisfactory hairline correction for you.
Shall we look into it more?

Following the common hairline correction designs,
if you focus on the shape of the forehead, height, hair-missing areas,
and other regions to fill in with a hairline correction surgery,
an awkward result is inevitable.
Hairlines must be designed
in the same perspective as a facial bone structure.
The doctor must consider not only the forehead details, height, and width
but the proportion of the face, mid-region volume, cheekbone properties,
the distance between the jar angle, side width, the angle of the front jar, eyebrows,
eyes, nose, mouth, and the sizes, volume, and balance, as in facial plastic surgery designs.
Then, they can shape a harmonious, natural-looking hairline shape.
I highly recommend consulting a plastic surgeon
who’s done thousands of hairline correction surgeries with the proper facial plastic surgery knowledge!
The disasters where thick hairs form the front hairline. How to prevent this?

This client was unhappy about the thick hair in the front of the hairline. She removed the thick hair according to the re-designing and received a re-correction surgery.
Upon a hairline correction,
fine hair should grow naturally in the very front,
and the thickness shall vary
towards the back. To do so,
a highly advanced technique from the follicle harvest stage is a must.

To correct a hairline, first, the follicles are
harvested from the back of the head
in the FUE or scalp incision method. This is when the know-how of quickly harvesting the various follicles from micro-follicles in all thicknesses
to realize the gradual thickness variation in the hairline. This is the highly-advanced technique!!

The microfollicles of baby hair in the very front are
spread over a limited area.
So they must be harvested very delicately.
Because they don’t often grow upright, a follicular harvest machine with a small diameter
can easily damage them. The ability to harvest selectively without damaging them is required to make the baby hair effect in the front hairline.

The follicles that hair grows from
are not put in a straight line like a wire.
The thin hair follicles often grow
at a 20 to 37-degree angle.
The gap angle with the other follicles growing together also varies. To harvest
follicles in a variety of thicknesses,
the doctor must know the characteristics of these follicles,
choose the right diameter of the harvesting machine while controlling the harvest angle delicately, and be quick about it. Check the competency of the surgeon rather than the harvest device.
The crucial SLIT & Forceps method of hair transplant techniques
for hairline thickness variation and hair density

Even if the follicles are harvested well,
the transplant stage is the most important part. Many people think that the follicles are transplanted
just following the hairline.
However, the difference in the transplant technique creates the final result.
The tiny hole to transplant the follicle is called a SLIT.
First, we create the SLIT using a device. It is important to
make the SLIT design reflect the ideal hairline design for the individual and thickness gradation (like the photos above).

In hairline correction, the forceps technique is more appropriate
where the doctor controls the angle and depth of each follicle
in a detailed and delicate manner.
(Referenece: The imave above) However, the forceps technique
takes a long time if the doctor is not experienced enough.
That may damage the harvested follicles.
Also, the transplant angle and depth cannot be controlled in detail,
so the hair will lose the opportunity to grow properly. That’s why the SLIT and Forcep techniques
are not commonly used because the doctors need a long time to become skillful.

In other words, a hairline correction doctor with
a lot of SLIT and Forcep transplant know-how can operate on
a mass transplant of over 3,000 hair or a natural re-correction surgery
for M-shaped hairline
quickly and steadily.
