There are quite a few men who decide to shave their heads because of their receding M-shaped hairlines on both sides of their foreheads.
However, shaving an M-shaped receding hairline doesn’t make it any less noticeable. Even if the non-hair-bearing areas are cleanly shaved, the difference is still noticeable. Moreover, a shaved head can feel burdensome in certain social situations or gatherings. It can also give the impression to others that the person shaved their head due to hair loss.
Recently, a young man visited Mo & Line Plastic Surgery Clinic with such concerns. He had been shaving his head because of the stress from his M-shaped hairline, but he was still bothered by it and wanted to try different hairstyles. After much research and consideration, he finally decided to visit Mo&Line Plastic Surgery Clinic.

At Mo & Line Plastic Surgery Clinic, we first use a 3D imaging analysis system to meticulously examine the client’s hairline issues from various angles, which are not easily visible to the naked eye, and explain the correction plan in detail. This process is conducted directly by the chief surgeon who performs the surgery.

Considering facial proportions and elements, the ideal hairline height, detailed curves, and the temple position and side hairline design are established.
Designing an ideal hairline is not easy when there is a significant M-shaped recession and the head has been shaved, as in this case. Utilizing our experience in both hairline correction and facial plastic surgery, we can design a harmonious hairline tailored to each patient by considering their entire face, including eyes, eyebrows, nose, and mouth.
It’s particularly important to have the expertise to design a natural-looking hairline from any angle, including the sideburns, which connect to the side hairline. A poorly designed hairline can look unnatural and may require revision surgery.

This patient had a large M-shaped recession, so 3170 hairs were transplanted. Even for large transplants of over 3000 hairs, FUE is possible. However, since FUE is more expensive than the FUSS (FUT) method, we sometimes use a hybrid approach, combining minimal FUSS (FUT) harvesting and FUE to minimize scarring. This patient also opted for a hybrid method.

Furthermore, rapid recovery was emphasized as the patient needed to return to work immediately after the hairline correction surgery. Those who have undergone hairline correction surgery at our clinic have not only expressed satisfaction with the results but also reported minimal discomfort such as pain or swelling immediately after the surgery, making their daily lives more comfortable.
With our minimally invasive techniques, which minimize bleeding and tissue damage, patients experience little to no discomfort in their daily lives immediately after surgery. This patient was also satisfied with this aspect of the surgery.

For men experiencing stress due to an M-shaped hairline, shaving your head for life is not the only option. Consult with Mo&Line Plastic Surgery Clinic. Many men have already experienced satisfying results with our hairline correction procedures.
For large-scale transplants of more than 3,500 hairs, we also perform a hybrid method combining FUE and FUSS (FUT) to minimize the FUSS (FUT) scar. Patients who have undergone FUSS (FUT) hairline correction at our clinic often report comfort even the day after the surgery. I’ll conclude this message with an 8-month post-operative video of a male patient who underwent a hybrid method transplant of 4,000 hairs.
